Abstract This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the training provided to the Business Continuity Management (BCM) Team at the Central Bank of Iraq through a case study assessing the team’s performance before and after the training. The scientific and technical knowledge of the team members was measured using a checklist based on the requirements of the international standard for Business Continuity Management (ISO 22301:2019) and the foundational knowledge necessary for its implementation. The evaluation results demonstrated a significant improvement in the team’s knowledge level after the training, reflecting the positive impact of the training programs on their competence and ability to effectively apply the standard. The study concludes that investing in building employee capacities is a fundamental pillar for enhancing the effectiveness of business continuity management. Such investments contribute to achieving the bank’s strategic objectives and ensuring its financial and operational stability in the face of potential challenges.
